“I can honestly say this has been the best book I have ever read. It’s such an outstanding story because I can relate to Vertus. Like him, I have a deformation of the head that I have been forced to live with. He was such a great person because he was able to forgive those that treated him with excess radiation. Seeing his amazing ability to forgive and accept his physical conditions has inspired me to do the same thing in my life. Reading this book has taught me that God has a plan for me just like he did with Vertus. Perhaps one of the many purposes of Vertus’ message is to motivate people, just like me, to accept and appreciate who they are as a person despite their disabilities.” -Jesus Avila
“This book has really given me a new outlook on life. I have a new appreciation for all of the many gifts I have been given. I now find myself shaking off things that would have frustrated me in the past. My problems now seem small after hearing about the hardships that Vertus endured for his entire life. I thank him for sharing his story and providing my life with new meaning.” –Raymond Berry
“I can relate to Vertus Hardiman’s story because I too have faced a similar hardship throughout my life. This book has helped me learn about defining my character and strengths. Much like Dr. Smith, one of my future goals is to write a novel about my story. I want to inform others who are dealing with similar medical conditions as myself that they are not alone and explain appropriate ways to learn and deal with any type of adversity.” –Marianne Vazquez
