“Thank you so much for your visit to Vincennes University and the gripping presentations you made to our students, faculty, and community. Your film and book portrayed compelling messages of hope, love, forgiveness, and individual courage expressed in the incredible life of Vertus Hardiman. We can all learn so much from his extraordinary spirit – his ability to overcome a horrible injustice which caused an unspeakable deformity that would have crushed and embittered a lesser person for life. This content should and needs to be incorporated into a wide-variety of curricular activities.”

“Hole in the Head: A Life Revealed is life changing! As I viewed the documentary and read the book for the first time, I was simultaneously overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for my many blessings and horrified at the realization of what we, as human beings, are capable of doing to one another. I have now read the book twice and viewed the documentary at least a dozen times. Each time, Vertus and Wilbert remind me about the importance of the gifts of kindness and forgiveness in our lives. Based upon the story’s impact on my life, I am incorporating Hole in the Head: A Life Revealed into my doctoral dissertation. Thank you for sharing these lifelong educational treasures.”
